Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium will be the venue to host the topmost clash of GFA NC Special Cup week five’s fixtures between AshGold SC and Medeama SC in Zone A.
After three way games in a row, the Miners will return home on Sunday ,14 April, 2019 to engage Medeama SC who are yet to taste an away game in the competition after their opening game against Wa All Stars was postponed.
The home side AshGold SC suffered their first defeat in the competition in the midweek fixture at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium against regional arch rivals Asante Kotoko which ended 2:0 whiles Medeama SC defeated Bechem United 3:2 at Tarkwa to continue their winning streak in two games.
AshGold SC have to bounce back from their painful defeat to Kotoko on Wednesday to keep their chances for the first spot alive as a lot of pressure will be on the technical team and the players to pick the three maximum points at stake. A point will also help Medeama SC to be at a significant position on the log with two outstanding games and also to defend their unbeaten right in Zone A.
Coach of Medeama SC Samuel Boadu will introduce Justice Blay back into the team after missing the Wednesday game and winger Jacob Apau will also miss the game at Obuasi. Svetislav Tanasuevic will make changes in his team that lost their first game to Kotoko in Kumasi,Roland Amouzou and Joseph Gordon will make it into the team.
All odds favor the home team AshGold SC as in recent three games Medeama SC are yet to record a win at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.
