Former WAFA Sc Midfielder, Majeed Ashimeru had made a last minute absence from Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s call up for the CAF U23 Cup of Nations against Gabon due to injury.
The promising Ghanaian midfielder suffered an injury on his leg during a league match against Lugano in the SWISS league on Saturday and later recieved surgical sutures.
The talented midfielder has withdrew from the squad and has stayed with hus club for treatment.
Meanwhile, the Ghana U23 team has continued preparations yesterday at the Accra Sports stadium with all foreign-based stars called on board.
The match will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on 23rd of March and the return leg in three days time in Libreville.
The winner of the two-legged tie will face either Algeria or Equatorial Guinea in the final qualifying round.
