Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko defender Godfred Yeboah believes Kotoko away win against Cameroonian side Coton Sport was due to Ashanti Gold SC tough test.
Ashanti Gold SC held Kotoko in a 1: 1 draw when faced each other in the Ex- President John Kuffour Anniversary Cup at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium before their first leg encounter in Cameroon.
Asante Kotoko , on Sunday 13 January, 2019 traveled to Cameroon to annex all the three points following a 3:2 win against Coton Sport in the Military Stadium.
According to the former Black Stars left back ,Kotoko win yesterday against Coton Sport in their CAF Confederation Cup playoff was the influence of Ashanti Gold SC tough test in Kumasi.
“The game against Ashgold SC helped Kotoko to know their mistakes and worked towards it during their preparations into the game against Coton Sport”.
“Kotoko Players shouldn’t be complecent going into the 2nd leg game because all the sad moments in the CAF Competitions for Kotoko happened at the Baba Yara Stadium” he advised in an interview with Kumasi based radio station ASHH FM.
Yeboah was a key member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko team that lost the maiden edition of CAF Confederation Cup against Accra Hearts Of Oak,2005.
