T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School won the 2018 Ashanti Region Inter Schools and Colleges to clinch it third inter schools title after beating Opoku Ware School in the finals by 4-3 on penalties.
The game started with T.I Amass recording a defensive blender at the early minute of the game with a back header which Opoku Ware school failed to count on it.
Amass in the 23′ minute triggered to find the opener but timely intervention from the central per of OWASS had the ball kicked away for a corner kick.Continuing to scored, mounted pressure in the penalty yard hitting a ball to the hand of Guymafi Edward but was disallowed by the center man.
Yaw Attakorah, skipper for Opoku Ware school in his second enigmatic opportunity to goal was recorded in the 27′ minute with a header missed the post by inches. T.I Amass were forced to substitute their winger few minutes before the elapse of the first department through injury.
Thomas Akurugu introduction into the game shockingly added instability to the midfield, however, contributed to an infringement which led to the center man pointing to the spot.
Felix Boabeng converted from the spot to put Amass in the lead after Kwame Silas was brought down.Minute later Amass lead, Opoku Ware had free kick cleared away at the right ring.
Tactical and energetic Opoku Ware school rose to the occasion of playing a grand finale despite down by a lone goal, putting the opponent shot stopper to no rest.Operating strongly from the midfield putting the defense line of Amass to loggerhead.
Close to 15′ minutes, OWASS held the ball with passes swinging from left to right. Arriving at a free kick with 4 yards from the 14-operating zone of the center circle. The well connected free kick got the head touch of Moh Faisal to the back of the net in the 68′ minute, drawing spouse with Ahmiddiyya school.
OWASS, after equalizing continued to dominate the game to a shot out.Both teams registered goals in their first 3 kicks but had gloveaman of Amass save two to clinch it third trophy as a senior high school in the region.
It all ended 4-3 in favour of T.I Ahmiddiyya, winners of 2009 trophy.
