Information gathered by Sportsnewsgh.com after the day one of the Ashanti Regional Inter Schools Soccer qualifiers at the Opoku Ware Senior High School park indicates that a supposed match fixing was played among two schools.
Three schools were paired in Group Five (5) to fight for a sole slot for the finale 32 schools to participate in the tournament to be held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium coming early December, 2018.
The OWASS center hosted former champions Okess, Atwima Kwanwoma and Westphalian on the first day of qualification matches on Monday 12th November, 2018.
The match between Atwima Kwanwoma and Westphalian SHS was gathered to be a fixed one with the intention of denying OKESS the chance of topping the group and gaining qualification to the main event.
It was all play all among the three schools in the group.
Atwima Kwanwoma defeated OKESS by a lone goal in the opening game. OKESS won their last game in the fixture against Westphalian SHS amassing three points with three goals to nil victory.
