History Of The Ashanti Regional Inter Schools And Colleges Soccer Competition

Sportsnewsgh.com are keenly following the Inter Schools and Colleges soccer competition schedule to commence on Monday 26th November, 2018 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. We bring to your door step every little detail of the event. Here is how the schools have fared since 2005.

Okess holds the highest record in terms of winning the trophy, 16 times, the last time Okess won the title was in 2008 beating Obuasi Secondary Technical in the final at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

In recent years, Adu Gyamfi SHS have won it three times on a row, starting from 2010 to 2012 making them the highest winning shcool with five title since the yeaar 2005.

Seven different schools have won the tournament since 2005 up to date, thus Adu Gyamfi, T.I Amass- Kumasi, Premph College, Obuasi Secondary Technical, Tepa Senior High, Okess and Super Kass.

Kumasi High School and Owass have both won the tournament once in the dated back in the 90’s.

Adu Gyamfi Senior High School are the current champions with a won over T.I Amass in the 2017.

Three cities have hosted the Ashanti Regional Inter Schools and Colleges soccer competition thus Kumasi, Obuasi and Konongo- Odumase at the Waterloo Park

2015- Obuasi Secondary Technical

2014- Adu Gyamfi Senior High School

2013- Premph College

2012- Adu Gyamfi Senior High School

2011- Adu Gyamfi Senior High School

2010-Adu Gyamfi Senior High School

2009- T.I .Amass -Ksi

2008- OKESS

2007- Tepa SHS

2006- Anglican Senior High School

2005- Premph college

The competition has a birthmark of producing numerous national heroes for the country count notable among them being Sulley Muntari(Okess), Lousi Agyemang(Okess), Emmanuel Osei Baffour (Super Kass), Jonathan Mensah(Obuasi Sec.Technical), Osei Barnes(Adu Gyamfi), Appiah McCarthy ( Premph College), Elvis Opoku(Owass), Isaac Owusu(Ksi High school), Godfred Assimah (T.I Amass-ksi)
