Captain for the South African Female National team, the Banyana Banyana Janine Van Wyk has disclosed that, the side are in Ghana for the Total Africa Women’s Cup of Nations 2018 to make history.
Van at the pre-match conference in Cape Coast revealed that one of the target set within Banyana Banyana team is to win the ultimate and also qualify to its first ever world cup tournament.
“Coming to this tournament we have a goal, and one of it is to book a ticket to France 2019 World Cup” We are going to take it as it comes, but we need to concentrate on what’s ahead of us by annexing the 3 points”.
“Then make a history by lifting the trophy and qualifying to the World Cup for the first time in history”.
The 2000, 2008 and 2012 runner up of this competition has been plot to face Nigeria, Zambia and Equatorial Guinea, who replaced Kenya in Group B.
South Africa will play defending champions Nigeria on Sunday, 18 November at the Cape Coast Stadium.
