Prisons male Handball team will be put to test by Hostac as the Greater Accra Handball League enters week 23 from today, Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
With the race for the league title between Police and Prisons once again and the league having a marathon over the weekend with week 21 & 22 matches, Hostac bounces back onto the court to face Prisons.
Hostac men, who had put Police under check with a draw in the week 20, dropping the latter from 2nd to 3rd for Fire to move up, will definitely be supported by Police to beat Prisons on Friday, November 2, at 2pm.
A win for Hostac on Friday at the Prisons Complex means, Police (with 32 points) will close in on the leaders in the men category should they (Police) also beat Cantonment Youth later, as their match scheduled for Friday as well have been postponed, with the league drawing closer to an end. Hostac, who didn’t play in week 21, won their week 22 match, 27-23 against Reniijoe.
Prisons men (with 35 points) beat Army 29-26 in a fierce battle in week 21 before going on to beat El-Wak Wings 32-23. Their rivals also enjoyed similar results, beating Fire 34-28 and a walk over to Legonite.
The fixtures for the week begin with Asomdwe and El-Wak Wings at the Fire Academy on Wednesday at 3pm. Asomdwe lost 12-15 to Reniijoe in week 21 and are now 7th with 16 points.
Army, who now lie 5th with 23 and 14 points in the men and women table respectively comes face to face with Reniijoe at the Fire Academy at 2pm on Thursday, November 2.
Debutants, Air force, after beating Fire in week 22 in both categories will wrap up the fixtures with a home game at the Burma Camp at 2pm on Saturday.
