Highly rated Goalkeeper Richmond Ayi had his debut league start for WAFA  after been signed in October last year by the Sogakope -based club.

The young goalkeeper was linked  to Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak after his former team Techiman City was relegated in their maiden edition of  Ghana Premier League taste.

His credentials saw the eye of the scouting team of the Academy club though the over all performance of  his former team was shameful to mention.

Having been kept out of action during the office of first -choice goalkeeper Razak Abalora .Ayi was picked ahead of team mate Theophilous Jackson in the post after Razak Abalora left the team on Saturday to join Tanzanian Premier side Azam Fc in a three year deal .

WAFA suffered  two unanswered goals   defeat on the hands of AshGold in the week 21 outstanding League game in Obuasi .

Striker Han Kwofie  found the opener in the 35th minute for the miners through the effort of the speedster  Amos Addai’s assist.

Early in the second half  defender Ibrahim Samed  header got the second goal for the relegation threatening  side with corner kick from left footer Roland Amouzou in 49th minute.

Will the question be raised  about the future of the youngster by the team coaches of WAFA  after conceding two goals in his first game for the Academy boys to keep faith in him for the next coming league or find his replacement as possible ?
