The Ghana Premier League is gathering hot momentum as it enters its match day 20 in midweek. Football loving fans in the country and across the globe have been served with some thrilling piece of actions in the past 19 match days,and are bound to be thrilled some more tomorrow as the action returns to eight(8) league centers spread across the country.

At the Accra sports stadium,glorious Hearts of Oak will lock horns with inform Obuasi Ashantigold SC.

The Phobians are also in some rich vein of form after the humiliation they suffered at Sogakope and will be hoping to do the double over the visiting Miners.

Ashantigold have by far been the best team in the second round of the league under the stewardship of coach C.K.Akunnor who has turned around the fortunes of the Obuasi based side as they continue their push for survival in the league.

Ashantigold also have revenge on their minds as they were beaten by the Phobians in the reverse fixture.

Hearts of Oak will be without the services of the mercurial Winful Cobbinah who is currently in the camp of the Black Stars whiles Ashgold on the fitness of striker Hans Kwofie who picked up a knock in their emphatic victory over Inter Allies.

A very tight and cagey encounter is anticipated as these two giants go head to head against each other.

Liberty recorded their first victory against Olympics under stewardship of coach Micheal Osei after his takeover as the head coach of the Dansoman based side .

The home side will be hoping to build on their impressive outing over the weekend by accounting for a bottom placed Bolga All Stars side whose away record is nothing to write home about this season.

Liberty will be without the services of their captain Samuel Sarfo who is on national duty with the Black Stars,but are likely to be boosted by the return of midfield dynamo Gerald Arkeson and veteran Richard Kissi Boateng who were both missing in action over the weekend.

A mouthwatering clash is on the cards as Liberty are bent on peeling away from the relegation scare against a Bolga All Stars side who are almost certain to return to the wilderness of Ghana football.

Aduana’s title aspirations was dealt a blow over the weekend when they lost at Tema to Tema Youth but the ‘Ogya’ boys will want to bounce back as soon as possible and get back on track in their quest to win the title starting with a less fancied Olympics side who themselves have lost back to back games.

Coach Tom Strand of Olympics have a herculian task on their hands and will have to play out of the ordinary if they are to return from the trip with a point or more.

Aduana Stars are without their first choice goalkeeper Joseph Addo who is on national duty with the Black Stars far away in the United States of America. Emmanuel Asante is doubtful for this match as the Olympics defender sustained an injury in their fixture over the weekend.

WAFA failed to capitalise on the loss of second placed Aduana Stars to open up the gap at the top by drawing away to Bolga All Stars.

Returning to their favorite home grounds,WAFA are cock sure to serve Elmina Sharks a piece of the bitter pill they have been serving visiting teams.

Elmina Sharks will have to play above themselves if they are to get anything from the game under new coach Yaw Acheampong after substantive coach Kobina Amissah was asked to proceed on a two match leave by the club’s management.

At the Wa Malik Jabir park,defending league champions Wa All Stars will lock horns with the harbour boys Tema Youth.

All Stars have been on and off this season and they all but ended their quest to defend the title in that loss they suffered at the hands of Kotoko over the weekend.

Coach Enos Kwame Adipah and youthful side are bent on picking up all the points on the day since any result short of a victory will not be in good taste for the Wa based side.

Tema Youth have six out of six points in their two previous games and will come into this match with their confidence sky high to grab a point or more from this match. All Stars will be without their stalwart defender Nicholas Mensah whose just recovered from a niggling injury but this match have come so soon for him to return to the playing field.

 

At the El-Wak sports stadium,Inter Allies will engage Bechem United. Allies are returning home after they suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Ashgold over the weekend and will be hoping to apiece their fans with a victory over Bechem United tomorrow. Bechem United on the other hand drew at home with Medeama and would want to do better against Inter Allies. Goalkeeper Kwame Baah is likely to return in between the sticks for Allies as he was missing in action over the weekend. This encounter is crucial to the hopes of both sides and hence a highly competitive and entertaining match is envisaged.

At the T&A park,Medeama SC will clash with Berekum Chelsea.Medeama are coming into this game full of confidence after picking up a vital point at Bechem over the weekend and are bound on building on that performance against the Blues from Berekum. Chelsea on the other hand failed to pick up maximum points over the weekend and are coming into this match red-eyed for the maximum points as emphasised by their top scorer Stephen Sarfo in the post match interview in their drawn game against Dwarfs over the weekend.

At the Cape Coast sports stadium,mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs will play as hosts to the Porcupine Warriors Asante Kotoko. Top scorer in the ongoing league and striker of Dwarfs Nicholas Gyan was quiet confident of them beaten Kotoko on Wednesday in his post match interview in the Chelsea game. Dwarfs coach Ricardo Da Rocha in that same interview stressed on the importance of tomorrow’s match since Kotoko are always a tough side to play but said they were going to prepare adequately to give the Porcupines a tough test on the day. Kotoko ended their winless home run in a 2-1 victory over Wa All Stars over the weekend and are brimming of confidence going into this crunch encounter. Dwarfs will be without the services of defender Sephen Bentil who was red carded against Chelsea over the weekend whiles Kotoko are likely to have Obed Owusu and Awal Mohammed back .
