GN Bank Division One League Team of the First Round from Zone has been announced after thorough scouts,recommendations and analysis after the 15 matches,top scorer,top assists are part of the best team but this time defender wins the best player for the first round.

GN Bank Division One League best team of the  first round in the 2016/17 from zone 2 has been announced after thorough work in the first round.Top Scorer in the league Samson Eduku Cobbinah,top assists Mujeeb Abdul Hakeem,free kick king Abdul Razak Cromwell and workaholic center back Ampem Dacosta have been named after impressive display in the first round,but this time,the best player goes to a defender after playing in all the 15 matches,helping his back line to concede least goals in the zone as well as holding the highest percentage in tackles,passes and blocks.

 

TEAM OF THE FIRST ROUND—-ZONE 2

1.DANIEL APPIAH—-UNISTAR ACADEMY–GK

Appiah,16 years,has been instrumental for his side after guiding the Kasoa base club to third place and on same points with second and fourth positions on the zone two league table.

The young and talented shot-stopper who displayed a successful performance in post Unistar Academy in the third tier league made 5 Cleen sheets out of his club’s 7 and over 70% saves in his 12 matches in the first round was chosen over Gold Stars keeper Salia Iddrisu who made 5 Cleen sheets out of his 10 matches and KARELA UNITED’s Nii Hammond Kalala has also made 3 Cleen sheets,saved one penalty and conceded only 2 goals in his 6 matches in the GN Bank Division One League.

 

2.STEPHEN FRIMPONG—BEKWAE YOUTH FOOTBALL ACADEMY 

The 19 year old right back who is very dependable and speedy on the ball made his debut for the Bekwae side against leaders Karela United at Gyamfi Park due to late registration,Frimpong who was voted best player in his side’s MTN FA penalties lost to ASANTE KOTOKO won 3 most valuable player awards in his 5 matches in the league,the mvps were against King Faisal,SEKONDI Eleven Wise and Sekondi Hasaacas.The former Inter Allies right back is now a target for for top clubs outside the country.

 

3.ABDUL RAZAK CROMWELL—PROUD UNITED

Cromwell,popularly know as Free kick king has make spectators of the second tier league love Real Madrid’s Marcelo type of play.

The 17-year old former Inter Allies left back has notched 7 powerful goals in his 14 matches for Swedru base Proud United.

 

4.AMPEM DACOSTA—-KARELA UNITED.

Blending his former team mate Daniel Amoah and Black Stars’ center back Rashid Sumaila’s style of play,the former Medeama and Wassaman United player has make everything perfect at his back line,holding over 80% in tackles won,95% in pass accuracy and aided his side to 6 cleen sheets and least goals concede (8) in his 15 matches for the zone two league leaders.The former Medeama U-20 and Wassaman captain joined coach Johnson Smith’s side prior to the start of the 2016/17 season and has so far won 2 most valuable player awards.Dacosta ,19 years has been difficult to be dribbled in the zone two and is having superb partnership with good old Abdul Karim Yusif.

 

5.JOSEPH SAKA—BIBIANI GOLD STARS

Saka,24 years was also part of Gold Stars’ 13 matches unbeaten record in the division one league.The former KFC Samosa center back has made 14 appearances for the Bibiani miners,Saka’s absence caused problem to coach Agyemang Duah’s side in their 2-0 lost to Samartex in the matchday 12 outstanding game on Sunday afternoon.

 

6.BENJAMIN KOTEI MILLS—KARELA UNITED 

Kotei Mills who has scored 3 goals in his 13 games for the passions has replenished sorts of premiership experience in the division one league.The consistent defensive midfielder who was adjudged best player of his club in the 2915/16 season has found best partnership with former Berekum Chelsea and Dunkwa United defensive midfielder Emmanuel Mintah and they have secured 4 matches winning streak.

 

7.AGYENIM BOATENG MENSAH—NZEMA KOTOKO

Despite his side’s first 5 consecutive matches without maximum 3 points,the former Berekum Chelsea midfielder has turned fortunes for the Asanda side,out of his 6 goals scored in his 12 games this season,5 has acclaimed 12 points for his side.

Ghe central regional accurate and powerful midfielder has been awarded 2 most valuable player awards this season and has also contributed to Nzema KOTOKO’s fastigiate on the table.

 

8.MUJEEB ABDUL HAKEEM—BIBIANI GOLD STARS

Mujeeb has been the undoubtedly best offensive midfielder in the past two seasons in division one league,setting up over 15 goals for 2015/16 division one league goal king DIWISIE TAYLOR and placing the miners to 3rd position even after their ten matches home ban.After missing the opening 4 matches for his side,the former Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder was the reasons why Gold Stars got 13 matches unbeaten and his side’s two lost of the season was due to his absence.

The 22-year old is the king of assists in the Ghana’s 2016/17 football season,8 assists,scoring one goal as well as being awarded 4 most valuable player awards in his 10 appearances for 2nd place side Gold Stars.

Mujeeb beats competition from Louis Sasa who also been tremendous after scoring 4 goals in his 14 matches for Achiken Fc.

 

9.PRINCE OPOKU AGYEMANG—-NEW EDUBIASE UNITED

Local Black Stars new boy from Division Two side Accra Lions FC Benedict Wobenu. His first words after the call up in a match after his side beat Proud United 4-1 age gyamfi Park.Opoku has scored 6 goals in 4 previous games for New Edubiase United and has become the hotcake in zone two.

 

10.PRINCE KWABENA OWUSU—-UNISTAR ACADEMY 

Youngster Kwabena Owusu has been the best discovery of the season,helping his debutant side to defeat league leaders.The 19-year old has set a very good record for his club and himself,all his 6 goals scored has claim positive points for Kasoa base side,benefiting 12 points.

 

11.SAMPSON EDUKU COBBINAH—KARELA UNITED

Sampson has win everything for himself and club with the exception of his away games,scoring 12 goals,setting up 2,winning 5 most valuable player awards which is the highest won by a player in the zone in his 14 matches for leaders Karela United.

Eduku’s 12 goals has acclaimed 21 points for the passions which is the highst by any other player in the Ghana.The 21-year old former Liberty Professionals youth and Sekondi Eleven Wise striker has scored 7 different teams this season but he is left with only a goal  to equal his 13 goals last season.
