Ghanaian goalkeeper Daniel Agyei has set a unique record in the Tanzania FA Cup.
After playing 360 minutes, which is equivalent to four games without allowing a goal.
Agyei, who joined Simba in the registration of the transfer window this season, has managed to keep such records playing against Polisi Dar, African Lyon, Madini FC and Azam FC as he helped his team reach the final of the tournament where they will play against the winner of yesterday’s match between Mbao fc and Yanga. Which Mbao won.
Simba played against Polisi Dar in the last 32 and emerge with a 2-0 win, round 16 they played against African Lyon and won 1-0, quarter-final they beat 1-0 Madini, semi-finals won 1-0 against Azam goal.
The remaining four teams to the semi-final, were Azam, Mbao, Simba and Yanga. Simba is the only team where the goalkeeper did not concede even one goal, whiles goalkeepers of the other teams were of letting the other team score goals.
Given that record, Agyei said: “It’s great to finish a match without allowing a goal, having done that in previous games, I have to make extra effort to make sure that even in the final I do not concede to keep this record unbroken.
“But unfortunately it can happen that sometimes you allow a goal in, I will tell my colleagues to fight to make sure we emerged with the victory that day.”
