Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association has called for maximum support from the entire nation as the Black Stars enter into 2017 African Cup of Nations, a trophy last won by Ghana some long-lasting 35-years.
“We shouldn’t put pressure on the team”. Before a team gets to the final of the tournament, it will play almost 6 games and putting in pressure on the early stages of the competition is somehow risky” he said.
“That can create divided attention, lack of concentration and over confidence. The team must have a peace of mind to tackle games match after match”.
“The team have prepared well enough and will travel UAE to continue preparations”
“The team is strong enough. We have most of the players who played in the 2015 edition that played in the final. We have almost all of them but the team is facing some problems. We have had issues concerning bonuses and others in our last 5 matches and our results shows, that’s why i’m calling for peace in and around the team”.
“The players need peace to focus on the task ahead. We all need to get on board if we are to win this tournament, the supporters and the media have a great role to play as well”
Saanie believes with these factors well adhered, Ghana will clinch the ultimate in Gabon to break the 35-year trophy drought.
